An employee at the Popeyes restaurant in Niles who was stabbed during a robbery attempt is being credited, in part, by the quick pick-up of suspect.
Police in Niles were called around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, to the restaurant on 11th Street in Niles.
Witnesses told cops the suspect, who was armed by a knife, walked into the back part of the restaurant and was confronted by the employee who ended up being with a non-life-threatening knife wound.
The suspect, who is a minor, took off, empty-handed, after the scuffle. Police say he got into a car with three others and was arrested a short time afterward.
