A woman from South Bend has been charged with the stabbing death of her husband.
Vicki Lynn Brantley, 58, is charged with voluntary manslaughter for allegedly killing Robert Brantley, 71.
Police were called just after 12 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, to the 1400 block of Miami Street after the woman called 911 and said her husband fell out of bed.
On arrival, police found the man bleeding.
After police told her he was dead, Brantley admitted confronting her husband about leaving their home and not telling her and that their argument sparked a fight with punches exchanged.
An autopsy confirmed that Robert died from a single stab wound to the left chest, which punctured his heart.
Officers found the knife they believe was used in the kitchen trash.
