A man from Niles, who took aim on firefighters with a BB gun received jail time and probation in Berrien County Court.
The incident happened in early January in Niles. His defense attorney said 35-year-old Charles Dortch was having a “bad day.”
Dortch apologized and admitted that something bad could have happened. He pleaded guilty to attempted assault with a dangerous weapon.
He was sentenced to two years of probation, along with a 20-day jail term, and was also ordered to pay fines and costs.
