Repair work getting underway on Bicentennial Bridge between St. Joseph and Benton Harbor

Repairs are underway today on the Bicentennial Bridge between St. Joseph and Benton Harbor.

Travel restrictions are in place for both cars and boats in the area, and expected to be in place through Wednesday, April 17.

The Bicentennial Bridge connects North Wayne Street in St. Joe to West Main Street in Benton Harbor.

Boat traffic is closed, vehicle traffic will be down to one lane.

The work is expected to resolve the lift issue that prevents the boat lift from rising properly for boat traffic.
