Change in government approved for Lincoln Township

(95.3 MNC)

There are changes coming to the local government in Berrien County’s Lincoln Township.

Township officials are moving ahead with plans to change the structure of their local government. WSJM reports that last week, the Board of Trustees voted to begin transitioning to a managerial form of government, rather than the current supervisory form.

That means when longtime Township Supervisor Dick Stauffer steps aside at the end of the year, the township will forgo having an elected supervisor in favor of having a hired manager.

The vote was unanimous.
