Michigan House panel approves bills allowing pharmacists to prescribe birth control

openverse.com
There is new legislation being considered in Michigan that would ease access to birth control for minors and others.
The bill package, from a dozen Democrats in the State House, would allow pharmacists to prescribe birth control regardless of a person’s age, and require insurers to cover the cost of the products, except for copays.
Bridge Michigan reports Republicans attempted to add an age restriction, which failed.
The legislation would also cover the so-called “morning after pill.” The three bills have moved to the full House.
