Four people charged with fraud associated with the 2022 school board election in Goshen met with a judge this week.

Roger Nafziger, Jose Elizalde, Mario Garber, and Andrea Johnson met with Elkhart County Circuit Judge Teresa Cataldo for status conferences. A fifth defendant, Allan Kauffman, is facing the same charges of filing a fraudulent report and accepting a contribution made in another’s name.

The Goshen News reports these charges center on contributions that were reportedly gathered and distributed to candidates in order to pay for a mailer against three other candidates.

Nafziger’s trial is now set to begin on August 5.
