The Michiana Athletic and Recreation Association is collaborating with local partners to offer transportation to sport and recreation activities for youth.

MARA was founded to improve the health and well-being of youth in South Bend with the idea that every child should be able to play in a safe and supportive environment regardless of their family’s income or athletic abilities.

60 local MARA partners and affiliates offer safe, supportive and nurturing sports and recreation opportunities to engage kids year-round, and now with the help of local partners including Transpo, students will be able to travel on all Transpo and Interurban Trolley routes during the months of June, July and August in order to help youth get to summer activities.

And, MARA is working with the Michiana Area Council of Governments to map bus routes and bike routes from neighborhoods to local sport providers so youth feel more confident and secure in traveling to their activities.
