The South Bend Police Department’s next “Prospect Day” is set for Saturday, Aug. 24th.

This is where applicants interested in becoming a South Bend Police Officer can accomplish all their qualifying tests, physical and otherwise, in just one day.

Officers hired this year can earn $74,000 plus shift incentives.

Next year, the base pay goes up to more than $77,000 plus incentives.

Those joining from a different department can earn a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. Those interested in applying need to do so before August 19th.
