One person shot on 18th Street near Union in Mishawaka

Police in Mishawaka are searching for a suspect after a shooting on 18th Street, east of Union.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

One person was shot in the stomach, was taken to the hospital, and is expected to survive.

Police think the shooting resulted from a fight and that the suspect took off.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. So far, there’s no word of any arrest.
