U.S. Coast Guard encourages responsible boating over holiday weekend

As Labor Day festivities begin, the Coast Guard is encouraging boaters to practice responsible boating, including avoiding drinking and boating, checking the weather prior to departing and letting people on shore know when you will be back.

They say the most important thing is to wear a life jacket while on the water and to ensure there is a life jacket for everyone on the boat.
