An Elkhart man was sentenced to two years in prison after a crash that left his wife dead in 2022.

36-year-old Dustin Yoder was sentenced on a charge of causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a Schedule 1 or II substance in the blood.

The Goshen News reports the incident happened in June of 2022 when Yoder and his wife went to a charity event.

As the two drove home on their motorcycle shortly after midnight that night, Yoder reportedly failed to break early enough near the curves on Heron Cove when he lost control and crashed.

Dustin told police that he had taken Adderall before the crash, but results tested positive for methamphetamine.
