A Union Mills man lost his life after a single-vehicle crash in the 4400 block of County Road 800 South,

The collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Deputies responded to the scene where they found a tan 2001 Buick that had veered off the road.

According to the initial investigation, the vehicle was heading west when it crossed the center line, ran off the south side of the roadway, and careened across a residential lawn. The car struck a utility pole, and then collided with a large rock before coming to a stop.

The driver, Douglas L. Adams, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene.
