The 23rd ranked Indiana Hoosier football team is the first Division I FBS college football team in America this year to be bowl eligible. They improved to 6-0 with a 41-24 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats (2-3, 0-2 in Big Ten) 41-24 Saturday afternoon.

It’s the first time IU football has been 6-0 since 1967.

Even though the Hoosiers never trailed Saturday, Northwestern cut it to 27-24 with 11:19 left in the fourth quarter with a two-yard touchdown pass from Jack Lausch to AJ Henning.

The Hoosiers struck right back, though, with a rushing touchdown from Ty Son Lawton followed by another late four-yard touchdown pass from Kurtis Rourke to Zach Horton to make it 41-24.

Rourke finished with 380 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also was never sacked.

The Hoosiers also had 149 rushing yards collectively.

Indiana has a bye week and they face 5-1 Nebraska on October 19.
