Public visitation announced for longtime TV news anchor Jennifer Copeland

ABC 57 and former WSBT News Anchor Jennifer Copeland, 46, has passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer.

Copeland spent most of her career telling the stories of Michiana, first as a reporter at WSBT and, after career stops in Illinois, North Carolina, and Minnesota, returned to WSBT as one of their main news anchors before switching channels to ABC 57.

Copeland leaves behind two daughters and her extended family.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 3-7 p.m. at Palmer Community Complex located at 601 N. Michigan St. Lakeville, IN 46536.

ABC 57 News released the following statement:

All of us at ABC57 are devastated to learn of Jennifer’s passing. Viewers knew of her commitment to Michiana from her years on TV, but we were also privileged in our newsroom to be able to know of her personal impact on so many lives. Jennifer was a devoted mother and took on every challenge with courage. Our deepest sympathies are with her family.
