The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi have been awarded a grant to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Band was granted 5 million dollars in federal Climate Pollution Reduction Grant funds from the EPA. That money can be used on tribal properties to make them greener, according to WSJM.

Among the projects being looked at for the funds are the switching of a significant number of their fleet to EVs, along with their maintenance equipment. HVAC improvements are also being targeted, along with more electric vehicle charging stations at their properties, including the casinos.

Plans will be considered over the next six months before the funding plan is announced.
