Suspect in custody following shooting at Elkhart bank

A suspect is in custody after a shooting outside 1st Source Bank on East Bristol Street left one man seriously injured.

It was around 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, when Elkhart police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the bank’s parking lot. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was treated by medics on the scene before being rushed to the hospital.

The extent of his injuries was not immediately released.

The Elkhart Police Department confirmed that another man was arrested in connection with the shooting.

No one inside the bank was injured during the incident.
