The 7th annual “Sleep-Out for the Homeless” event is happening this weekend.

With homelessness continuing in the area and the upcoming winter projected to bring incredibly cold temperatures, the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity are looking to help those in need.

The Sleep-Out is happening Friday at 3 p.m. until Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Calvin Johnson State Farm Insurance Agency on E. Jefferson Blvd.

Their goal is to raise $10,000 to buy coats, warm clothes and toiletries, as well as to “stuff the bus” with coats, winter clothes, thermal socks, winter accessories, sweatshirts and pants and toiletries.

They’ll be accepting cash and electronic donations through Cashapp.
