Elkhart Police respond to burglary at Bristol St. Dollar General

Elkhart Police // Alyssa Foster

The Elkhart Police Department responded to the Dollar General on E. Bristol St. shortly after 3 a.m. on Monday in reference to a front door glass break alarm.

Officers say nobody was in the building when they arrived, but they say it appeared somebody attempted to steal some items behind the checkout counter.

No suspects have yet been identified, but authorities say they believe male suspects entered the building, attempted to open the locked tobacco case and then took a trashcan and several food items before leaving.
