Three former Indianapolis Colts made the list of the 25 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
They are kicker Adam Vinatieri, former wide receiver and now Colts wide receivers coach Reggie Wayne, and defensive end Robert Mathis.
This is Wayne’s six straight year of being a semifinalist, Mathis’ fourth consecutive time, and it’s Vinatieri’s first season being eligible for the Hall of Fame.
Wayne played all 14 of his NFL seasons with Colts and made the Pro Bowl six times. He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2007 and won Super Bowl XLI with the Colts.
Mathis played for the Colts for all 13 of his NFL seasons and also was on the Super Bowl XLI team. He made the Pro Bowl five times and is the NFL’s all-time leader in forced fumbles. He also led the NFL in forced fumbles in 2004, 2005, and 2013.
Vinatieri played in the NFL for 24 seasons. He was with the Colts for 14 years and spent 10 years with the New England Patriots. Vinatieri is the NFL’s all-time leader in field goals made and field goals attempted. He made three Pro Bowls, won three Super Bowls with New England, and won Super XLI with Indianapolis.
Next up, the list will be cut to 15 finalists. The number of former players selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame each season has to be between four and eight.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be announced in February. The enshrinement is set to happen in August.
