Among the new laws going into effect for Michigan in 2025: A cap on drug prices for nearly 2 million older state residents.

The cost savings are headed for some Michigander Medicare beneficiaries. The benefits include a $2,000 cap for drug costs and a way to stretch costs over 12 months. Many beneficiaries currently have a cap of four times that.

Bridge Michigan reports that there are more changes coming, with ten of the most common drugs becoming cheaper. The changes only apply to covered drugs for those enrolled in standalone Medicare Part D plans or who have drug coverage through Medicare Advantage plans.
