A Winter Weather Advisory is effect from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST on Monday, Dec. 23, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange in Indiana, as well as Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph in Michigan.
Our Monday morning starts out dry, but as we enter mid to late morning, a wintry mix containing light freezing rain will start to develop. This could cause slick spots on the road shortly after the precipitation starts. As we enter the afternoon, we could see a few snowflakes however the precipitation will likely transition fully to rain as temperatures warm to above freezing.
Highs this afternoon will reach the mid-30s.
We’ll dry out by the evening. Cloud cover sticks around tonight as we cool to the low 30s.
Our break from wet weather continues Tuesday, gradually getting warmer. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 30s.
It looks like we will not see a white Christmas this year – highs Wednesday will be in the upper 30s with rain showers likely.
Temperatures will continue to climb the rest of the week with daily rain chances. Friday and into the weekend, highs will be around 50.
