L.C.I. Industries, the parent company of Lippert, is considering an unsolicited buyout offer that could be worth nearly $3 billion.

The company says a private equity group has offered $101 dollars a share. With about 29 million shares outstanding, the deal could value L.C.I. at roughly $2.9 billion.

L.C.I.’s board says it will review the offer but emphasized that the proposal was unsolicited.

The company also says it remains committed to its previously announced merger with Patrick Industries, another major supplier to the R.V. industry.
