A man from South Bend is facing neglect charges following a crash that resulted in serious injuries to his children.

Court documents say police tried to stop a car being driven by Anthony Nichols earlier this month after he was seen speeding on Western Avenue.

Police say Nichols ignored the police lights and sirens and accelerated to 60 miles per hour before colliding with another vehicle at Walnut Street.
