Kosciusko County authorities arrested three individuals early Saturday morning following a dramatic foot chase that began with a traffic stop on State Road 13 near North Webster.
The incident unfolded just after 12:30 a.m. when a state trooper attempted to stop a 2003 Chevrolet SUV for equipment and registration violations. The driver initially tried to evade police, entering the Black Rocks Trailer Park before coming to a slow stop. Before the vehicle halted completely, a female passenger fled on foot, followed shortly by the driver and front-seat passenger.
The trooper pursued the fleeing woman, identified as Heaven Tendziegloski, 36, of Syracuse, through several yards, issuing verbal commands for her to stop. Tendziegloski refused to comply and was ultimately subdued with a Taser and arrested. She faces charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana, along with two active warrants for theft.
Authorities then turned their attention to the two men who fled the scene. A K9 unit tracked the alleged driver, Tye Sommers, 35, of Syracuse, over two miles into a wooded area. Sommers was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and resisting law enforcement.
The third suspect, Travis Vanover, 49, of Syracuse, was located more than a mile from the traffic stop, hiding in another wooded area. Vanover was taken into custody on charges of resisting law enforcement and outstanding warrants for driving while suspended and probation violation.
All three suspects were transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.
