A Niles man has ben sentenced to five months in jail after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in Berrien County Trial Court.
Kyle Paul Collinsworth, 27, was initially charged with assault with a dangerous weapon-a brick-after a dispute with a neighbor last August.
The victim told the court that Collinsworth and his friends had been trying to intimidate him and others in the neighborhood.
He said if he didn’t have mace to spray at Collinswork, he would have been killed. Collinsworth’s defense attorney said the assault stemmed from ongoing neighborhood tensions that had been going on for months.
