Trial continued for robbery suspect

A man accused of robbery at the Middlebury Pizza Hut last year has had his trial continued.

28-year-old Anthony Amaya Jr. faces preliminary charges of robbery and felon in possession of a firearm after a robbery that happened in February of 2024.

A victim reported being robbed at gunpoint while meeting with a person over a social media marketplace purchase.

The suspect reportedly fled after allegedly showing a handgun and demanding the victim’s property. 

The Goshen News says Amaya’s jury trial was rescheduled from March 17 to June 2.
