Millersburg man injured, two horses killed after crash on County Road 42

A Millersburg man was injured Wednesday night after his truck collided with two horses on County Road 42, just west of the city limits.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:27 p.m. near the 14,700 block of CR 42, east of CR 33. According to authorities, 34-year-old Timothy Beechy was driving westbound in a 2010 Ford F-150 SVT when two horses suddenly entered the roadway. Beechy was unable to avoid the animals and struck both.

The horses did not survive the impact. Beechy, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, suffered injuries to his right abdomen, right knee, and left shin. He was transported to Goshen Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No citations were issued, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Authorities have not released information on the owner of the horses.
