Dowagiac man pleads guilty to fleeing, eluding police

A Dowagiac man has learned his fate after pleading guilty to fleeing and eluding police.
Travis Dontrail Guntle Jr., 27, received a one-year jail sentence with credit for time served following a June incident in Niles.
According to Leader Publications, Guntle has prior convictions in Cass County for assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct, felony firearm possession, and resisting police.
The Berrien County Assistant Prosecutor requested the sentence, citing Guntle’s probation status in Cass County and an active warrant in Indiana.
