A South Bend woman has been cleared of all charges in a 2020 crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist.
Kara Beaty was previously sentenced to six years in prison but had her conviction overturned this week after new evidence came to light.
A full Facebook Live video, not fully shown during her 2023 trial, revealed the motorcyclist was traveling over 100 mph before the crash-nearly triple the speed cited in court.
WNDU says the judge reviewed the footage and granted Beaty’s petition to vacate the conviction.
