Child, 4, drowns in Syracuse Lake

A 4-year-old child drowned in Syracuse Lake.

Police got a call around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, from East North Shore Drive about a missing child.

Syracuse Police arrived a few minutes later and found the child under a pier in about three feet of water.

They were taken to a hospital but didn’t survive.

Investigators say the child’s family was visiting a home on the lake. One of the parents called 9-1-1 after realizing the child was missing.
