As Americans prepare for more summer festivities, 1 in 5 say they will risk theirs and others lives by driving while intoxicated.

A new safety report by Insurance Canopy says 75 percent of Americans are buying alcohol for the 4th of July this year.

Their findings say over 40 percent of Americans plan to drink alcohol during their celebrations, and young adults ages 21 to 34 are the most likely to drink and drive.

The study also says 38 percent of July 4th traffic deaths in 2023 involved drunk driving. Alcohol-related firework injuries cause thousands of preventable accidents each year.

If you’re planning to consume alcohol, please do so responsibly.
