Gary felon sentenced for firearm possession

A Gary man was sentenced to 88 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Reports say 30-year-old Nvaun Lewis was found in possession of a loaded pistol with an extended magazine during a traffic stop in Michigan City.

Due to multiple previous felony convictions, he was prohibited from possessing the firearm.
