St. Joseph County property tax appeal deadline passes

Monday, June 16 was the deadline for people in St. Joseph County to file an appeal for their property tax assessment.
Homeowners 55-years-old and older can apply for a tax credit capping tax increase at 2%. County leaders say an appeal can be filed online, e-mail, fax or in person at the County-City Building on West Jefferson Boulevard on the 3rd floor.
Many homeowners in St. Joseph County have already complained about their property taxes increasing recently.
