Bicyclist dies after being struck by pickup near Goshen

A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a pickup truck just east of Goshen.
The crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at the intersection of County Road 34 and County Road 37.
According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by A 19-year-old Shipshewana man struck 52-year-old Daniel Fisher, of Goshen, who was riding a bicycle.
Police say the driver admitted he was distracted by his cell phone at the time of the crash. The impact threw FIsher off his  bike and into a nearby field. He sustained injuries to his leg and head. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment. He died on Saturday.
