A 20-year-old South Bend man has been sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison for possessing an illegal machine gun conversion device, often referred to as a “Glock switch.”
Jordan Bowers was sentenced to 46 months in prison and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the federal firearm offense.
Court records show that in January of 2024, Bowers was found with a firearm fitted with the device, which allows a handgun to fire multiple rounds with a single trigger pull. Authorities said he used the modified Glock during a shootout with another individual driving a vehicle.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the South Bend Police Department.

Sooo,, He was in possession of an illegal machine gun that he used in a drive by shooting. He is sentenced to nearly four years in prison! Is it any wonder there are so many repeat offenders in society!!
I would argue that the “Glock switch” is in common use and therefore is protected under the Bruen decision.
