The Elkhart County Traffic Safety Partnership is looking to increase impaired driving enforcement before the arrival of Labor Day.
Working with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, the effort is aimed at preventing impaired driving and saving lives.
During the last two weeks of August, officers will increase patrols and conduct sobriety checkpoints as part of the Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over national campaign with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It hopes to make safer, smarter driving a true partnership between law enforcement and drivers in American communities

So for the folks that stop by their local pub after work for couple of their favorite flavors of suds, the check points are choke points for traffic.
Not sure if I care or not, just nuisance for the sober people.
It’s best to stop someone impaired by being stupid on drugs or alcohol, but it’s also a check of license, registration, insurance, warrants, or whatever. It’s not just sobriety.
