Head-on crash on State Road 120 sends three to hospital

Three people were injured early in a head-on crash on State Road 120, east of County Road 17.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened around 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, when a Ford Fusion, driven by a 24-year-old Elkhart man crossed the center line and struck a westbound Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD.
The Elkhart man suffered a head injury and internal injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
The driver of the Silverado, a 71-year-old Missouri man, and his passenger, were taken to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of neck and body pain.
The Ford was destroyed in the crash, while the Silverado sustained heavy front-end damage.
Factors into the crash remain under investigation.
