The St. Joseph County Department of Health is offering free Naloxone to the community.

Naloxone, an opioid overdose reversal medication, is available everyday at multiple locations in the county, but the Department of Health will be dedicating September 25 as Free Naloxone Day to bring awareness and education surrounding opioid overdose.

They’ll be offering a one-hour training to explain how to use the product, as well as to explain signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and data on the opioid epidemic in the county.

The free training is happening at OneRoof Southeast Neighborhood Center in South Bend at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 25.

So free Naloxone to save the druggies, but people with allergies have to buy their own EpiPens.

I think our priorities are just a little out of order.
