A police chase in LaPorte County ended with a man in custody early Sunday morning.
Deputies say they tried to stop a speeding car on Lincoln Way, but the driver, 34-year-old Jacob Cooper of Kalamazoo, kept going.
The car eventually crashed into a fence at the LaPorte County Highway Department before continuing into Michigan City.
Police say Cooper ditched the car near Lakeshore Drive and ran off, but a K9 tracked him down and stopped him.
He was arrested on several charges, including resisting police, drunk driving, leaving the scene, and having an active warrant.
Cooper is being held in the LaPorte County Jail.
