A 21-year-old South Bend man is facing multiple charges after allegedly kidnapping a 14-year-old from her school.

Court documents say 21-year-old Marco Antonio Sanchez-Hernandez of South Bend is facing multiple charges after an incident at Edgewood Middle School in Warsaw on September 26.

Police say Sanchez-Hernandez tried to check a student out of school, claiming to be a family member.

Staff discovered he was not authorized, and the student’s parent said they did not know him. Investigators say the two met on TikTok.

Sanchez-Hernandez is charged with kidnapping of a child under 14, possession of child sex-abuse material, and obstruction of justice. His initial hearing is scheduled for October 9.
