A man accused of a deadly shooting at an Osceola apartment complex will have to wait longer for his day in court.

20-year-old Daqwan Jackson-Burnett of Elkhart is charged with killing Roosevelt Lewis III on March 24 at the Arbors at Riverbend Apartments.

According to court documents, Lewis’s girlfriend told police the shooting happened during a marijuana deal with Jackson-Burnett. The Goshen News says another witness reported hearing yelling and threats before gunfire erupted from the suspect’s vehicle.

Because Jackson-Burnett’s attorney recently entered the case, the court postponed proceedings and withdrew a bond hearing. A trial status conference is now scheduled for December 18.
