A new fire station is now open in Nappanee.
The station held a grand opening ceremony Sunday for the new station, which replaces one that was 55-years-old.
The modern station starts operations today.
Assistant Fire Chief Nick Lechlitner says the community will be safer with crews being able to get out the door faster.
