A New Carlisle teenager convicted of killing a six-year-old will remain in juvenile detention.
18-year-old Anthony Hutchens appeared in court Friday to determine if he should be moved to an adult prison to serve the rest of his 64-year sentence for the murder of 6-year-old Grace Ross.
The judge ruled he’ll stay at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility until at least October 2026, when the case will be reviewed again.
Hutchens was 14 when he murdered and molested Ross in 2021.
He was convicted and sentenced in 2023, and could remain in juvenile custody until he turns 21.
