Visit South Bend Mishawaka is taking control of the Century Center and plans updates to the nearly 50-year-old downtown facility.
The center hosts weddings, conventions, and other events, but city officials say renovations are needed to keep pace with similar venues in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
While the city’s 2045 Master Plan calls for demolishing the North Wing, Visit South Bend Mishawaka says it is committed to keeping the Century Center active and contributing to downtown.
