A high school student and her mother are seeking answers after a food delivery was interrupted by gunfire.
Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, the teen and two friends were DoorDashing along County Road 1 when the app suggested a route through an alley.
While stuck in the snow for 30-40 minutes, they heard a gunshot from a nearby home.
The student saw a figure yelling but couldn’t identify who fired and called police.
Deputies helped deliver the order to the correct home and get the car back on the road.
The mother said she is concerned about her daughter’s safety. The sheriff’s office says it will provide updates as the investigation continues.
