Trial continued for man accused in deadly shooting

A jury trial has been continued for a man accused in a deadly shooting at an Osceola apartment complex.

20-year-old Daqwan Haze Jackson-Burnett of Elkhart, is charged with the March 24 shooting death of Roosevelt Lewis III at the Arbors at Riverbend Apartments.

According to court documents, the victim’s girlfriend told police the shooting occurred during an attempted marijuana purchase.

The Goshen News says another witness reported hearing yelling and threats before shots were fired from a vehicle.

The jury trial has been moved to March 13.
