South Bend Police identify teenager killed in Frances Street triple shooting

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that wounded multiple people on the city’s northeast side.

On Monday, January 5, around 4:05 p.m., South Bend Police responded to the area of Frances and Sorin Streets on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located three people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The shooting  fatally wounded 17-year-old Malik Duncan. Two other individuals – 19 and 16-year-old males – were also wounded by apparent gunfire and treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
