Suspect arrested following early Tuesday morning shooting in South Bend

South Bend Police have arrested a suspect in connection with an early morning shooting on the city’s east side.

Officers were called to the 600 block of East Indiana Avenue around 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, on the report of a shooting.

Responding officers found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.

Following an initial investigation by the department’s Violent Crimes Unit, detectives identified 38-year-old Nora Jones as the suspect. Jones was later taken into custody in Mishawaka and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail, where she awaits a formal charging decision from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
