‘Bears in the Air’ program raises $10 thousand for Center for Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center

South Bend International Airport’s 14th annual Bears in the Air program was able to raise $10,000 to benefit local veterans.

The money will benefit veterans living at the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center on the campus of the Center for the Homeless.

Airport CEO Mike Daigle says the donation brings the program’s total giving to more than $116,000.

The Bears in the Air program also delivered more than 2,600 teddy bears to children at five area hospitals in December.

Daigle says it’s because of the corporate and community’s support that the program has seen such success.
